Description:

After the stunning revelation that the man who so perfectly opened the OT Scriptures to them was indeed the Resurrected and Glorified Christ-- the two men from Emmaus rush back to Jerusalem to share the good news with their brothers and sisters. But once they get there, they find Peter has also encountered the Resurrected Christ and a new spirit of belief has gripped the community. Subsequently, they share the story of their own encounter and how their hearts were set on fire by the proper, non-selective interpretation of the Word of God and the revelation that Christ was not dead but alive! We will learn Luke's critical message-- that faith in a dead christ cannot possibly save anyone, and that it is only through the non-selective reading of Scripture that we come to know Christ as He truly is. For only the Christ of Scripture has the power to save, which is why it is so essential that you believe in the Resurrected and glorified Christ!
