Delivered during the Sunday morning worship service, 07/19/2020. Even after Jesus died and His Spirit left His corpse on the Cross, Scripture continued to be fulfilled and powerful principles continue to be revealed in John's narrative of the Crucifixion. In this study, we will consider specifically the facts surrounding Jesus' death, and in general the fact that Christianity is a religion based on verifiable historical facts and not "cleverly devised myths". Once we have established the nature of Christ's physical death, we will seek to determine what it means for us and how we should respond. For the blood and the water compels each one of us to grapple with the poignant fact that Jesus, under the curse of the Fall, and because of the agony and suffering of enduring the wrath of God on our account, literally died of a "broken heart".
