Description:

Delivered during the Sunday morning worship service, 09/08/2019. On the night Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples for the last time, He instituted what we call Communion, or "The Lord's Supper". On the same evening, He washed His disciples feet in a gesture that has profound significance, both to Christ's model of servanthood and His redemptive mission and purpose. In this message we will combine these two great events in a fanciful story underscoring the importance of being a redeemed believer in Christ before participating in the sacrament of Holy Communion. The purpose of the story is to help recapture the lost reverence for The Lord's Supper as a means of grace, in order to bolster the faith of believers and facilitate our walk with Christ. Jesus calls us to His table for a special time of Communion with Him but requires first that He symbolically and redemptively "washes our feet". For after all-- this is the Footwasher's Feast!
